Anne Thomas

Anne led a life marked by devotion—to her work, her home, and most importantly, her family. For more than thirty years she served as a bookkeeper, bringing the same care and steadiness to her work that she brought to everyone she loved. After she retired, that same spirit found its way into her garden, her treasure hunts at garage sales, her costume jewelry. She loved collecting Miss Piggy and Disney trinkets.

In 1954, in Detroit, Anne married Charles D. Thomas, Jr., beginning a partnership that would span an extraordinary seventy years. Together they built a life rooted in love and mutual respect. Their enduring bond was a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew them. She remained his partner until his passing in 2025.

Anne was a devoted mother to her daughter Sandra and her husband Mark. She took immense pride in her grandchildren—Chelsea and her husband Jake, and Nicole and her husband Doug—and found great joy in watching her great-grandchildren Isaac and Oliver grow. Family gatherings were among her greatest pleasures; she cherished every moment spent surrounded by those she loved.

Known for her loving, caring, and generous spirit, She was a loving mother and grandmother, and she wore that role with quiet pride.In addition to her husband, Charles, Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Elsie Ciambella, and her siblings, Gertrude, Anthony, and Yolanda.

Anne Thomas leaves behind a legacy of kindness, loyalty, and unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory bring comfort to those who carry it forward.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Henry Ford Hospice Home and care staff for the compassionate care and kindness they provided to Anne and her family.

A committal service for Anne will be held Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 W. Dickman Rd., Augusta, MI 49012.
