Arlene J. Ward, 92, of Mason, Michigan passed away January 4 ,2014 in East Lansing, Michigan. Arlene was born January 19, 1921 to the late Wray and Mary (Fellows) Welsh in Mason, Michigan. She was a loving mother who enjoyed her family and pets. She loved working in the garden. Arlene will be missed by her loving family, and is now at peace in the arms of her Lord and Savior.

Arlene was preceded in death by husbands, Harold S. Platt and John Ward; sons, Gale L. Platt and Donald E. Platt; and sisters, Ethel Howe and Maxine Akers. Surviving to cherish her memory are sons, Gary L. Platt, Robert R. (Gloria) Platt, Jon M. (Eileen) Platt, and Douglas J. (Linda) Platt; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and brother, Charles (Margaret) Welsh.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 10, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at Mason First Church of the Nazarene, 415 E. Maple, Mason, MI 48854. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church, and on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Mason Chapel, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, MI 48854. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mason First Church of the Nazarene or McLaren Hospice, 2316 S. Cedar, Suite 600, Lansing, MI 48910.
