Bettie was born May 19th, 1937 in McKenzie TN. Bettie was a charter member of Bethany Baptist Church in Lansing, MI. As neighbors and friends we are all so sorry for your loss. She was a sweet person to us when we would get to see her. Her dog, Alex would always come over to our yard for a visit with our Lady Girl! I think he was her boyfriend!! 😊🐶💙. So glad that she is not suffering anymore!! You all did a great job of taking care of her and your love shined through! ❤️ Kim, Debbie and family.

I grew up spending much of my childhood with Aunt Bettie and the rest of the family. I was pretty much an only child, my siblings were much older and already on their own, was nice to be around a family with mom, dad and kids. So much energy. My favorite memories are those around the breakfast table eating oatmeal or waffles with ice cream and strawberries.
Aunt Bettie always had a confidence about her, said exactly what was on her mind.
So many fond memories. I loved her and I know she loved me.
Praying for the family as they begin the coming days adjusting to life different, without her.
Much love to you all.

Mom had the best sense of humor and could play “Cards Against Humanity” with the best of ‘em. We sat around the table laughing so hard that quite often we couldn’t even talk! I am so fortunate to have her humor passed on to me, which I passed on to our boys. They, more than once, thanked her for having passed her love of laughter down the line to them. My Mom and I had a relationship that not many people get to have. There was nothing we couldn’t talk about. She could shine a light on my darkest times, reminding me to get my big girl panties on and do what must be done. Thank you Mom for loving me and teaching me to be strong and to stand up for what is right. You pretty much taught me all I need to know to navigate this life, except how to do it without you. Her fur-babies gave her so much joy and comfort, Alex and Toby (d.2019). She leaves her “guards” Shadow, Yogi, Molly and Lady to miss her. Sleeping during the day without Mom/Gramma to lay on is just not going to be the same.
Mom, I will miss you until the day I die. I’m so lucky you were my Mom! Forever - Bev
