

Mason, MI
Age 83, died Saturday, February 13. She was a woman who loved her family deeply, and was a devoted parishioner of St. James Catholic Church in Mason. Betty was born November 27, 1926, in Okemos, MI to James and Beatrice (Worden) Quinn. As a young child she lived in Bunker Hill and Dansville. She settled in Mason in 1943 where she resided until her death.
Betty was deeply involved in St. James Church activities since coming to Mason. She was President of St. James Women’s Club for two separate terms, 1962 and 1992. She was the proud historian for St. James since 1984 working with ten different priests. Betty was the ultimate church lady and a Minister of the Eucharist for years. She absolutely loved taking pictures for her church activities and reporting on the congregation history. For 14 years she worked for Mason Public Schools happily serving lunches to the students. She was president of the Pink Community Club, again demonstrating her love of Mason.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, JB Evans of 47 years, and Donald Cade, husband of two years; grandson, Paul John Evans; sisters Evelyn Miller of FL, Lorene Brown of OH and Beverly O’Berry of Mason.
Surviving are her 5 sons and their spouses, Randy and Cheryl of Mason, Larry and Phyllis of NY, Gary and Sandy of Mason, Terry and Trinda of Mason, and Jamie and Charley of Holt; 5 grandchildren, Cindy, Sarah (Justin), Corey, Kristi, and Jake; 2 great-grandchildren, Gracen and Julian; 3 brothers, Howard (Bobbie) Quinn, Gerald (Brenda) Quinn, Gordon (Rosemary) Quinn; 2 sisters, Gladys Moeckel and Phyllis Wheeler.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, February 19, 2010 at St. James Catholic Church, 1010 S. Lansing St., Mason, MI with the Rev. Alan J. Wakefield officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 17, 2010, 6-8:00PM and Thursday 2-4 & 6-9 PM where the Rosary will be prayed at 8:30 PM at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, MI
