Charity Roys Bergland

Born January 19, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan to Hervey and Eva Roys, passed away on December 17, 2015 at the age of 93. Charity was a homemaker, family historian and book lover. She was a long time member of the Mason First United Methodist Church where she participated in the chancel and handbell choirs. Special thanks to Sue Shelander and the staff at Riverwind Assisted Living for their care and compassion. Charity was preceded in death by her husband Oscar in 1973; her parents; sister, Marjorie Roys Bergland; brother, George Robert Roys. Surviving are her daughters, Christen (Joseph) Bement and Melissa (Dan) Burnham; son, Eric (Sally Metcalf) Bergland; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and many much loved nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 22, at 11:00 a.m. at the Mason First United Methodist Church, 201 E Ash St, Mason, MI 48854. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery, Mason, MI. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the Mason First United Methodist Church, 201 E Ash St, Mason, MI 48854.
