

Mason, Michigan
Age 83, died August 20, 2014; born December 6, 1930 to Nelson and Violet (Quick) Dockter. Charles was a veteran of World War II; he had worked for the Michigan and Alaskan Highway Department where he helped build the Mackinaw Bridge and Alaskan highway. He retired from General Motors where he had been an electrician for 30 years. Charles loved his Harley, hunting, fishing and his family very much. Preceding him in death were his parents; and brother, Dale. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Luella, of 61 years; daughters, Denise (Jeff) Townsend, Darlene (Rob) Switzenberg; sons, Daniel (Sue) Dockter, Dirk (Carol) Dockter, Dutch (Kim) Dockter, Ron Dockter; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Mason Community Church, 1000 E. Columbia, Mason, Michigan with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Dansville, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, Michigan.
