Charles J. Heckman

Born August 25, 1965 in St. Ignace, Michigan to James and Christine (Ryerse) Heckman, passed away on February 23, 2016 at the age of 50. Charlie served in the U.S. Navy in Hawaii. He was a loving son, brother, father, husband and friend. Charlie worked at Michigan State University as a welder and was president of Local 999. He was an outdoorsman that loved fishing, boating and golfing. Charlie was loved by so many and always brought a smile to everyone he met. He will never be forgotten. Charlie was preceded in death by his mother; and son, Dustin Heckman. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson St., Mason, MI 48854 with military honors. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
