Charles R. Welsh was born on October 25, 1932 in Vevay Township, MI, the son of Henry Wray and Mary Maxine (Fellows) Welsh, and passed away August 11, 2018 at the age of 85. He was a resident of Mason all his life. Charlie retired from Federal Forge Inc. and Lansing Drop Forge in Lansing after 39 years. He loved popcorn, motorcycling, tractors (especially John Deere) and his dog “Miss Sadie”.
Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, Ethel Howe, Maxine Akers and Arlene Ward. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Margaret (McKie) Welsh; one son, Bradford C. (Marcia) Welsh; 2 daughters, Melissa A. Welsh and Michelle S. (Park) Peters; 6 grandchildren, Steve (Amanda) Welsh, Jennifer Welsh, Amanda (Chris) Baker, Allison (Chris) Bannick, Kirsten (Dustin) Roberts, Leif (Ann) Rolandson; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 415 E. Maple St., Mason, MI. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 South Jefferson St., Mason, MI and one hour prior to the service at the church.
