Connie was born on December 28, 1941 to Violet & Howard Bouts in the home of a family friend. She loved horses while growing up, and later travelling with friends & family, gardening - receiving a certificate for Master Gardener through Michigan State University, and quilting. She was known for her love of quilting, choosing the designs, shopping for the materials and shared this love with her granddaughters by teaching them to sew. Connie also created some very unique and intricate costumes for her grandchildren. In her later years she found great joy with her very spoiled pets: Ginger, Molly, Pebbles and Kibbeth.
Connie graduated from Mason High School. She attended Lansing Community College, obtained an Emergency Medical Technician Certificate and an Associate Degree in Nursing. She went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from the University Of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Emory University with a certificate in Enterostomal Therapy. She worked for various hospitals and homecare agencies in the greater Lansing area, specializing in wound & ostomy care.
Connie was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society of Nursing and elected to the "Who's Who" among students in American Universities and Colleges. She was baptized at Aurelius Baptist Church on April 15, 2001 by Pastor Steve Aiken.
Once retired, she continued caring for others part time, including her mother and aunt.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Violet Bouts, sister Jean McCreadie and triplet infant brothers.
She is survived by her brother Clair (Nancy) Bouts and family; children, Tim (Jody) Pease; Deb (Brian) Haynes; Tom (Sharon) Pease; Kristin (Dan) Taylor; grandchildren, Dr. Danielle (Jeff) Breisach; Gordon Taylor; Carly Haynes; Roger Brunette III; Aerialle (Eric) Taylor; Chelsea (Ben) Haynes-Richards; Taylor, Marissa, and Tristan Pease; and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 621 S. Jefferson Street, Mason, Michigan. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service with light snacks and refreshments. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Lansing, Michigan.
