Cynthia "Cindi" Ruth Caltrider

Born on November 8, 1955, in Mason, Michigan, Cindi was the beloved daughter of James Caltrider and Janice Evans. She spent her early years in Southern California before moving to Utica, Michigan, in 1969, where she attended Utica High School, graduating in 1973. In 1984, she moved to South Florida, where she spent the next four decades of her life. In her final days, she returned to Michigan to be close to family.

Cindi will be remembered for her deep compassion and care for animals. Throughout her life, she had many pets, including some exotic ones such as iguanas, hedgehogs, tarantulas, and tortoises, each a testament to her love for all creatures.

She was predeceased by her parents; grandparents; her fiance, Jim Borgiel; and her second husband, Gene. She is survived by her son, Michael; her three grandchildren, Danielle, Savannah and Madison; her brothers, James (Kristin) Caltrider and Larry (Susan) Caltrider; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside memorial service to celebrate Cindi’s life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Maple Grove Cemetery, 213 N. Jefferson St, Mason, MI 48854. The service will be a joint tribute, honoring both Cindi and her mother, who passed away just 11 days prior.
