Deborah Gail Green, age 72, passed away on October 16, 2026. Born June 13, 1954, at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina, Deborah was the daughter of Raymond E. Wade and Bettie Jean (Dickson) Wade. She lived in Lansing before moving in 1992 to Mason, Michigan, where she built her own home and made a life rooted in steady devotion to family and community.
On December 27, 1968, Deborah married Johnny Mac Green in Gleason, Tennessee. A 1972 graduate of Everett High School in Lansing, Michigan, Deborah was Valedictorian—an early reflection of the diligence and determination that would mark her life. She went on to serve the United States Postal Service for 31 years, working her way up from a part-time letter carrier in Holt to retiring from Jackson as a Postal Supervisor. Along the way, she earned the respect of those who worked beside her, and she was a member of NAPS for several years.
Deborah had a true green thumb and took pride in gardening—flowers and plants that reflected her patient care. She was also a genealogy enthusiast for many years, tracing family lines back to the mid-1700s, preserving stories and connections with the same thoroughness she brought to everything she did. Her love of scrapbooking was another way she kept memories close, thoughtfully gathered and lovingly saved.
Deborah is survived by her husband of 57 years, Johnny Mac Green; children, Johnny M. Green Jr. (Denise), and Roxanne (James Tinervia); grandchildren, Seth Green, Kim Jackson (Jacob), Deborah Keeney (Stirling), Allyson Green, and Kody Juhas (Rylie); great-grandchildren, Violet and Ivy Keeny (Deborah), and Hazel Juhas (Kody). She is further survived by her sister, Beverly (Robert).
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Bettie Wade; her brother, Edward Glenn; and her sister, Rebecca Voss (Steve). She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Hubert and Lynn Wade, William Mason and Allie Dee Dickson.
