Dennis Gordon Rowland

Born on February 8, 1948, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Dennis lived a life marked by dedication to his country and deep devotion to his family. He proudly served in the United States Navy and remained committed to honoring the service of others throughout his life. His patriotism continued through his active involvement with the American Legion Post 238 in Holt and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Mason—organizations that reflected his enduring values of camaraderie and community service.

For over five decades, Dennis shared a loving marriage with Kosovka Rowland. Together they built a strong and supportive family. He was a devoted father to Robin (Antonio) Castro, Diana (Chris) Varn, Mark (Emily) Rowland, Maria (James) McKie, and Tanja (Alan Stoll) Rowland. His pride in his children extended to his role as a grandfather to Bryan (Samantha) Geraci, Maddie (Tim) Brannum, Dekota Lacey, Nikolas Rowland, Avery Rowland, Jayden Shutler, and Sebastian McKie. He also cherished being a great-grandfather to Sicily, Sebastian, and Jack.

Dennis was a caring brother to Donna (the late Edward) Bedell and maintained close bonds with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends who will remember him with affection and respect.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m., at St. Andrew Orthodox Church located at 1216 Greencrest Ave., East Lansing, MI 48823. Interment will follow at North Aurelius Cemetery, Mason, with Military Honors rendered under the auspices of the American Legion Post 238.

In honor of Dennis’ legacy and service to both country and community, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 238 at 1785 Cedar St., Holt, MI 48842.
