Doris C. Balmer

Age 85, died July 31, 2012 in Mason, Michigan. Born July 23, 1927 to John J. and Mary J. (Arnold) Lorraine. Doris loved gardening, her flowers, needle art and enjoyed reading and watching baseball (Tigers) and the Spartans. She and her husband Harold had vacationed in Florida for 30 winters. Doris volunteered for Election Day work in her community. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a great homemaker, canning and preserving her own food. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Harold, twin brother Dorr and brother Walter. She is survived by 3 daughters, Jeanette (Joseph) McMyler, Janet Bollinger, Debra (Gustavo) Caraballo, 1 son James (Patrice) Balmer, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, brother Carl (Marilyn) Lorraine and sister-in-law Jean Lorraine. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, Michigan. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 12:00 P. M. at the Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Ezop officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Dansville, Michigan.
