DuWayne Frank Howe

DuWayne was born July 9, 1930, the son of Claude and Hazel (McCreery) Howe in their family home in Leslie, MI. His hard work ethic was established in him very young as when he was a boy, he worked on his family's farm and helped his father with the family sawmill business.

Between the busyness of life, DuWayne met the love of his life, Rachael Anderson. He was honored to change her last name to Howe on January 15, 1949 at the Nazarene Church in Mason, MI. They spent the next nearly 74 years filled with joy, laughter, and family.

As an adult, DuWayne operated the Howe Lumber Company until the early 1960's. Following this, he began his journey into the world of plumbing at Anderson Plumbing & Heating, where he ultimately became a licensed master plumber and superintendent of the business's residential plumbing department. DuWayne officially retired in the mid 1990's. However, he did not lose his love for keeping busy and providing for his family throughout his entire life as he did not say goodbye to plumbing as a business and to a service for others until he was in his late 80's.

A memorial service will be held 2PM Friday, December 30, 2022 at Trinity Church, 3355 Dunkel Road, Lansing, MI.

DuWayne is survived by his love, Rachael Howe of Mason; children, Constance Zanger (Robert Essenberg) of Lansing, Robert Howe of Mason, and Denise (Mark) Terman of Sarasota, FL; grandchildren, Robert Zanger of Mason, Christian (Stacey) Zanger of Lennon, Anne Zanger (Tom Beaudoin) of Haslett, Catherine Howe-Leung (Eric Leung) of Novi, Sarah M. Howe ( Erwin Arias-Hervert) of Ann Arbor, Andrew (Katie) Terman of Palmetto, FL, and Samuel Terman of Sarasota, FL; great grandchildren, Cassady Plourde of Corunna, Nathan Zanger of Lennon, Corinne and Miles Beaudoin of Haslett, Andrew and Mason Leung of Novi, Helena Arias-Howe of Ann Arbor, and Everett Terman of Palmetto, FL; sister, Ruth McCullough of AZ; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws; and many close friends.

DuWayne is preceded by his infant granddaughter, Renee Leigh Zanger; siblings, Olah Swartout and Ronald Howe.
