Earl DC Battin III

Earl DC Battin III, age 73, of Leslie, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. Earl was born August 16, 1948 to parents Earl Battin II and Louise (Barnes) Battin who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his siblings, Janet, Dorothy, Darrel, and Howard. Earl is survived by his loving wife, Karen Battin; brother, Eugene; children, Ann Alcaraz, Carin Vaillancourt, Darin Sperry; grandchildren, many cousins, and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Earl moved to Mason, Michigan at a young age. Earl was a proud graduate of Mason High School Class of 1966. He worked at General Motors Fisher Body for many years as a line operator and then in the sanitation department. Earl was a proud member of the American Legion in Holt and VFW 701. On February 1, 1996, Earl married the love of his life, Karen Sleda, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He enjoyed golfing, wintering in Florida, and he loved to travel. But one of his favorite things was riding his Harley and organizing bike trips with friends. Earl will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, his enthusiasm toward life, and his ambition.
