Edward Alan Fredericks

Edward Alan Fredericks, age 71 passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. Edward was born October 3, 1950.
Edward “Eddie” Fredericks, son of Wm. Gail and Helen (Moore) Fredericks, born October 3rd, 1950 at Detroit Grace Hospital, died suddenly May 11th, 2022 at the home he shared with his wife, Jo (Pino) Fredericks in Mason, MI.
Ed and Jo fell in love while attending James Madison College at Michigan State University (I.R. ’72). They recently celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary.
He is survived by his wife and kids, Nathan & Jessica and Carol & Todd; grandchildren A’lexis, Faith & Jarred, Grace & Jeffrey, Harmony, and Nathan, Jr.; siblings William & Susan Fredericks, Connie & Mark Miano, Bob Fredericks, Debbie & Doug Vlad and the Priebe siblings (Bonnie, John, Kitty, and Dan). He is also survived by Jo’s siblings Claudia Pino, John & Marie Pino, and Laura Lovejoy-May; and many beloved nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his dear brothers-in-law Stephen and Kevin Pino.
Ed retired from the State of Michigan DNR & MIOSHA in 2007. He enjoyed travel, golf, music (especially performed by his son, Nate, and granddaughter, Harmony), fishing and spending time with family and friends. Eddie was an avid Spartan fan, philanthropist, progressive activist and organ donor.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 20, 2022, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 South Jefferson, Mason, MI 48854, with visitation from at 12:00 to 1:00 pm with the service starting at 1:00 pm. The family asks those attending to dress comfortably. Eddie loved his wild socks, MSU gear, and tie dyes. No one will be turned away for wearing a Jerry Garcia t-shirt.
