Evelyn Lou Kranz, passed away from natural causes at the age of 90 on September 15, 2021. Born Evelyn Klont on September 6, 1931 in Eaton Rapids, she was preceded in death by her parents, youngest son Gerald, eldest son Keith, her sister Jane May, as well as many dear, life-long friends. She is survived by son Ronnie (Deborah) Kranz, sister Patricia Shultis, sister-in-law Thelma Hines, daughter-in-law Joyce Kranz, grandsons Daniel (Elizabeth) Kranz, and Russell (Heather) Kranz, two great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, nephews and two great-grand pups.
Evelyn graduated in the class of 1947 from Mason High School. She married and later divorced her high school sweetheart, the late Stanley E. Kranz, but remained a Mason resident until the end. She worked as the “lunch lady” at North Aurelius Elementary for many years, retiring in the early 1990’s. Evelyn much enjoyed all MSU athletics, butterflies and her weekly bowling league - especially the out-of-state tournaments with her team. Evelyn loved to travel and had a cabin on Tee Lake for many years, where she entertained family and friends. To Evelyn, family and friends came first in her life. If you ever tried calling her on her birthday, you probably got a busy signal due to the volume of calls she would receive - that’s if she could find the phone among the mountain of cards from well-wishers.
No services will be held, and cremation has taken place. In memory of Evelyn, the family asks that if you so wish, give a donation to a local animal rescue organization or pay for a Mason elementary student’s outstanding lunch account balance in her honor.
