

MASON, MI
Our MOM was re-united with her Lord and Family on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015 at the age of 84. She was born in St. Johns, MI on June 11, 1930 to the Edward J. and Alvina M. (Whiting) Casper. Evelyn attended Mason High School and married Hulett “John” McClung in 1948 and they resided in Mason throughout their lives. Evelyn and John raised their children: Diana (Raymond J.) Piggott Jr, David McClung and Doug (Vicie) McClung. Their family grew to include 5 grandchildren, Brett (Beth) Shaw, Ms. Daneil Shaw-Dishaw of Dimondale, Miss Kelsey, Miss Kylie and Derek McClung of Mason; 7 Great-Grandchildren, Zackary, Joshua, Michael, Alex, John and Kyle (Shaws) and Kara Dishaw. Her steadfast passion was her children and home. Evelyn served her community as past president of the Ladies Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars #7309, District 6, and participated in many of their social events and fund raisers. She retired from Mason School District as a cook “Cookie Lady”. From Mid to Northern Michigan, she enjoyed life in her perennial gardens, preparing foods for all to enjoy, dancing, crafting, shopping, playing Bingo, Euchre, searching for a winning lotto ticket and her many friends in the community at Green Acres in Mason.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband (12/20/06); she was the youngest and last surviving sibling, Brothers/Sisters, Charles, Raymond, Edward J., Thelma (King) and Ilene (Moelter). She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister-in-laws, Mrs. Edward (Alice) Casper, Mrs. Richard (Shirlyn McClung) Russell, Ms. Bill (Beverly) Dodge and many nieces, nephews and special friend Larry Summerville of Holt.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM April 8, 2015, at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Ball Dunn Chapel, 621 S. Jefferson St., Mason, MI with the Rev. Dick Preston officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mason, MI. The family will receive friends at the funeral home April 7, 2015, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Ball Dunn Chapel.
