She was born on January 20, 1920 in Nebo, Illinois to Louie and Lula (Stevens) Melton. She married Virgil Stewart, and they lived in Lansing, Michigan for many years. She was a huge MSU basketball fan, and was a wonderful cook who enjoyed making delicious and memorable meals for her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil, her parents, and her brother, Lowell Melton.
She is lovingly remembered by her son Chris and his wife, Kristine.
