Floyd Stanley Bowen Jr. was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 20, 2018. He was born on March 20, 1928 to Floyd and Dolsia (Phillips) Bowen in Mason, MI. He is survived by brother Larry (Phyllis) Bowen of Saint Cloud, FL; daughter, Cathy (Jerry) Kinney of Mason, MI; grandsons, Daniel (Amanda) Kinney of Holt, MI, Luke Kinney of Chicago, IL; and great-granddaughter, Lyla Kinney of Holt, MI. He is also survived by special friend, Marilyn.
He was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Lansing, MI. Floyd was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, serving on a minesweeper ship in the South Pacific. He retired from the engineering department of Sparrow Hospital. He enjoyed reading and playing music on his harmonica, guitar, and banjo; however, his greatest passion was spending time with his grandkids.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 1st at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, located at 7740 W. St. Joseph Highway, Lansing, MI. A visitation will be held 10:00 AM preceding the 11:00 AM service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Lupus Foundation.
