Garry was born on June 15, 1941 in Dansville, Michigan to Otis and Freda Bisel. He attended Dansville schools and graduated in 1959.
Following graduation, Garry served four years in the U.S. Navy as a jet engine mechanic and earned the rank of AMH3 (E-4). Following his time in the service, he worked for General Motors in several locations and capacities, eventually retiring from his career after 30+ years.
Throughout his life, Garry was quick to lend a helping hand. He coached little league baseball, served in the Lions Club, and volunteered to give blood or plasma every chance he could. Garry also served his community as a Safety Officer with Dansville Fire & Emergency for over 35 years. He was an integral part of the Dansville community throughout his life.
During his life, Garry was an avid sports fan. He loved to follow MSU sports and to attend games whenever he could. He also loved to cheer on the Dansville Aggies, long beyond when his kids were students.
Garry was an amazing husband, father, uncle, brother, grandpa, son, and friend. Garry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy (Johnston) Bisel; his children Todd (Dawn) Bisel, Steven (Laura) Bisel, and Dana (Damien) Dlugokinski; his grandchildren Kayla, Kirstie, Lindsey, Christian, Skylar, Cameron, Logan, Caleb (Corrina); and 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Roger (Madge) Bisel, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Garry is preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Freda (VanEpps) Bisel. He is also preceded by his siblings, Otis Bisel, Glenn Webster, George Bisel, Royal Webster, Bob Bisel, Ronnie Webster, Jim Bisel, Richard Bisel, Donald Bisel, Nancy Lininger, and Carol Clark.
Funeral services will be held at 4 pm on Monday, October 25, 2021 at Gorseline Funeral Home in Mason. Friends may visit with the family before the funeral from 2 to 4 pm at the funeral home. There will be a celebration of life gathering following the funeral at the Dansville Village Hall.
