

Leslie, Michigan
Passed away on January 19, 2012, at the age of 92. She was born on November 28, 1919 in Odessa Township, Ionia County, Michigan, the daughter of Grover and Georgie (Follett) Curtis. Hazel was a lifelong farm woman who loved her gardening, flowers and pulling weeds. She was a gifted seamstress and quilter. She worked for Dart Insurance and retired from Ingham Intermediate School District. Hazel was predeceased by her husband, Alvin W. Bauman; her parents, three brothers, Robert, Willard and John Curtis; one sister, Marjorie Hutchison, and an infant son, Curtis Lawrence Lewis. She will be continually loved and greatly missed by her children, Glen (Patricia) Lewis, Bonnie Lewis (Jerry) Klinger, and George (Jill) Bauman; two stepsons, Ralph of Farmington Hills, Michigan and Kenneth Bauman of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren, Steven, Rebecca, Terry, Tony and Christina; four step-grandchildren, Jody, Michael, Amy and Tom; six great-grandchildren, Diane, Marcus, Nicholas, Jordan, Brian and Aubrey; four step-great-grandchildren, Tyler, Rachel, Emily and Allison. Hazel had many loving nieces and nephews, their spouses and children; and many friends, all of whom enriched her life and deserve special thanks for their caring and helpfulness in her times of need. Funeral services will be held at the Gorsline Runciman Ball Dunn Chapel, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. with the Elder Rick Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Leslie.
