Heather, you were such a strong woman who will be missed dearly. Last night, Junior said "can I go see Heather one last time?" It broke my heart. Calista asked Monica "where did Nay Nay and Heather go mommy?" And she was looking for LeeAnn and i! Those children love you very much along with many others but I know that God needed you to be Home with Him! Please know that you will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace!

What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us;
what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.
-Albert Pike
Ancient Egyptians believed that upon death
they would be asked two questions
and their answers would determine
whether they could continue their journey in the afterlife.
The first question was, "Did you bring joy?"
The second was, "Did you find joy?"
-Leo Buscaglia
It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died.
Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
-George S. Patton, Jr.
When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced.
Live your life in a manner
so that when you die the world cries and you rejoice.

I had the privilege of photographing Heather for The Oldham Project's, "Be Bold, Feel Beautiful" program. In the afternoon she spent in the studio, we created some stunning images of Heather, bald, that have since graced billboards across Lansing since last fall. She bravely was interviewed several times for the State Journal and appeared on the cover of NOISE magazine! She was our biggest cheerleader for The Oldham Project (www.theoldhamproject.org), and what we were trying to accomplish with Be Bold, Feel Beautiful. She indeed, felt more beautiful and bold, after her participation! She attended our Gala in January, again, bald from the cancer recurrance. With style and grace, she greeted guests and other women participants, with encouraging words and a cheerful heart. She will forever live on in the images we created and the hearts of those she touched.
The world will be a bit darker without her light.

I can't imaging what your family is going through right now, I pray for them daily. When I heard you were sick again I thought about you all of the time. Our boys being only 2 months apart I couldn't help thinking what if, while constantly praying for your full recovery. I know you will be watching over Tommy and Little Tommy until the day they join you. God bless you Heather, I know you are in a beautiful place with no sickness or pain.

Heather was an all around amazing person. Not only was she beautiful inside and out, but she had a heart of gold and was the most courageous woman I know. She always had her son as top priority in her life and strided to make him a better person. She touched so many lives and had a strong positive impact on every one of us whom have had the privelege of not only being her friend, but also being a part of her life. Personally speaking, I wish I would be able to have half the impact on people in my life as she did. Heather was very inspirational to me and my family, and I will forever be greatful to her for that. You will be missed by so many, but will forever live in our hearts.....I love you Heather Renae Allen, keep watch over us all....especially lil man! <3 you

I meet Heather at the Be Bold Be Beautiful Gala, our tables got mixed up and there were two spots at her table so they sat my friend and I there. What a great mix up it was. I fell in love with Heather that night. She was so upbeat and had so much life to her. I am so sorry that she lost her battle but she put up a great fight. I became friend with both her and Brooke on facebook and we would keep in touch every now and then. She touched my life in the few hours I spend with her so I can only imagine what she has done to other lives. I am honored to say that I had meet this wonderful girl if only for a few short hours. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Heather was and will continue to be my best friend forever. My experiences with this wonderful women will forever live on with me and many others that I watched her touch their lives. Even before she ever knew she was sick she was always trying to make people laugh whether it was a Walmart cashier, Homeless man or someone that she had known forever. Heather stood next to me no matter what was going on in my life good or bad and she always set me straight when I was slipping. All in all Heather was the strong one and will be missed by hundreds but I think that she would want us all to remember the good times. I will never forget the smiles she created with her wit. I miss you so much Heather and know we will have more fun times some day when we meet again. Love you...

Heather was my everything. She was the most kind hearted, caring, full of energy, always willing to help people in need spouse I could have ever asked for. There isn't a moment that goes by that I wish I could have traded her places just to see her happy again and pain free again. She gave a valiant battle for us in fighting this disease. She will always be in my heart and in my mind. When I look at our son all I can see is Heather staring back at me telling me it will be okay and to be strong for him. I miss you sweetie with all my heart and soul. I will always love you, Sleep with the angels and be free babe you deserve it. Love always, your fiancee:)

It is my utmost wish that your sorrow will be erased with the memories of your lovely daughter. Heather was one of God's bright spots, and certianly made my life brighter by knowing her. Hearing of her passing has left a void. Jenny and Frank my prayers are with you and your family.

I know we have had are ups and downs in school and we never became close friends but I always thought you were a sweet girl. If we ran into each other somewhere we always said hi to each other and asked each other how we were doing. We were friends on facebook even though we didn't talk much but with all the pictures you had on your page I could tell that you touched so many hearts and you were a wonderful mother and a good friend. Even though you are gone we will never forget you and you will always be remember.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010, and I took part in the Be Bold Feel Beautiful project, which gave me the opportunity to meet Heather. In spite of what she was going through, she had such a sweet, wonderful spirit, and her positive attitude made others feel hopeful. She loved her son so much. I thank God for the impact she had on my life. My condolences and prayers are with you all. Take comfort in knowing that she is with the Lord now, experiencing no pain, no grief; only joy and happiness.

We live in Upper Michigan and read the LSD everyday, as Lansing is our hometown. I am grieved this morning for your loss - even though I do not you all, or Heather. We have a just turned 28 year old daughter who is expecting her first baby. We have also lost a child - a son at the age of 30 - and understand fully your pain. I encourage you to trust your heavenly Father to take you through this time, as He has promised to, and know that life will be good again. Heather is right up there with our Dan, continuing in her own destiny. God bless you all.
