Helen was active in 4-H as a child and teenager. She especially enjoyed showing her sheep and her Jersey Cow Sugar. She was the State Cherry Pie Queen in 1956.
Helen enjoyed baking treats for her friends and neighbors as well as sewing. She was an accomplished seamstress and made over 500 quilts and lap roves for area nursing homes, VA hospital's and homeless shelters.
Helen was an avid football fan who loved her MSU Spartans and the Detroit Lions.
Helen and her late husband Bill were Foster Parents to 42 teenage boys over several years. She held several secretarial positions before and after foster parenting. Together they enjoyed spending their summers at their camper in North Branch, MI. She loved the Great Lakes and visited them whenever possible.
Helen was preceded in death by her Husband, William R. Eastman, her Daughter Hope Miller, her Son-in-Law Scott Miller, her son Brian Eastman as well as her Sisters Beverly (Lee) Leyrer and Phylis Brown.
She is survived by her Children Glen (Tena) Noble, Rusty (Kathy) Peffers, Teresa (Steve) Brown and Glenda Weiss.
Also surviving are her Grandchildren Elaine (Ben) Boyle, Carrie (Frank) Kalmar, Michelle Mitchell (Jeffrey), Nathan William Brown, Tiffany Weiss, Chad William Weiss, Annie Eastman, Melissa Miller, Brandy (Dennis) Butcher, Sarah (Corey) Felpausch, Della (Jason) Lang, and Marsha Peffers along with 17 Great-Grandchildren.
She loved spending time with her family and camping with her Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on March 8, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes. Visitation will also be held on March 9, 2021 at 10:00 am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes. Funeral Service will be held on March 9, 2021 at 11:00 am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes.
Serving as pallbearers are Nathan William Brown, Chad William Weiss, Corey Felpausch, Ben Boyle, Frank Kalmar, Dennis Butcher.
