Ian James Sprague, 34, of St. Johns, passed away at his farm, with wife, Marissa and fur-baby Captain by his side. Ian spent his childhood in Mason, MI with parents Ken and Michelle Sprague and brother Sean.
Ian was employed at the FRIB at MSU. His passion for welding started at age 14 when he built a racecar. The passion also led him to teach welding at LCC West.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Surviving Ian is wife, Marissa, fur-baby, Captain, in-laws, Mike and Marian Klimkiewicz, sister-in-law, Marlena (Dan), parents, Ken and Michelle Sprague, brother, Sean (Brittney) Sprague and many friends and extended family.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Aurelius Baptist Church on 4419 W Barnes Rd, Mason, MI 48854. A memorial service will take place on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 11 am at Aurelius Baptist Church.
The family has requested that casual summer attire (sunglasses and flip flops optional!) be worn to honor Ian's "style."
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to New Hope Pet Rescue or Ingham County Animal Shelter in Ian's memory. If flowers are to be sent please consider mum plants, as they were Ian's favorite!
