Jackie Lou Bennett

Jackie Lou Bennet, age 75, of Mason, MI was born August 4, 1947 to Robert and Esther Damon and passed away Friday, January 20, 2023. Jackie was born in Lansing, MI, but the majority of her life was spent in Mason, MI, where she was known and loved by so many. She worked at Michigan State University for 37 years where she was cherished by her staff and students. As a result, she became a loyal MSU fan, even naming her dog Sparty. Jackie’s family was everything to her. She had a huge heart and always put everyone before herself, opening her home up to people even beyond her family. Anyone who met Jackie was met with warmth, love and kindness. Jackie’s strength and independence made her someone you could always lean on. She was also full of life and vibrancy and loved to host holiday parties - always having a game of euchre ready to go! Just be sure to follow the book of Hoyle. Jackie will be deeply missed and loved by all who knew her. Jackie was the loving mother of Tracie Dennis, Carrie (Todd) Weidner and Byron (Meesha) Schartzer; cherished grandmother of Nikki Schartzer, Britton Dennis, Katlyn (John) Bauer, Morgan Schartzer, Jada Schartzer, Taya Schartzer and Aria Schartzer; great grandmother of Micah Bauer and Valerie Bauer; dear sister of Sally (Doug) Carl, Gloria (late Bob) Stragier), and the late Barry Damon (Cat), Bobby Damon and Dallas Damon; fond aunt to many nieces and nephews; and special friend to many.
