

John Ralph Hafelein, 76, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 22, 2016 in Lansing. He was born September 23, 1939 in Ovid, Michigan to John Eugene and Isabel Emma (Barber) Hafelein. John was a proud Army veteran who served in Korea. He retired from General Motors after 33 years of service.
John loved to bowl, fish, and hunt, and was an accomplished woodworker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ray Eugene Hafelein; his father-in-law, C.E. “Butch” McCulley; and dear friend, Allen Downey.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 39 years, Sharon Hafelein; his sons, Todd Dockett and Scott (Christine) Lovejoy; his grandchildren, Daniel, Danielle, and Jonathan Dockett, and Corrie Ann Lovejoy; his great-grandson, Thomas Todd Dockett; and his sisters, Ruth Marie Lowe and Beverly Jean Helbig; his uncle, Wayne (Barbara) Barber; and numerous other family members.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 1:00pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson St., Mason, MI.
