Judith Ann Pitman

Judith Ann Pitman – Passed away peacefully on September 17, 2011. Judy was born in Lansing, MI and lived in Mason, MI for the majority of her life. She was a 1957 graduate of Mason High School where she enjoyed choir and was president of the Bible Club. She worked as a playground and classroom aide at North Aurelius Elementary School for over 20 years.

Judy was born on July 26, 1938 to the late Harold Meredith and Rosemary Harper (Whitney), and was the beloved wife of Harold Pitman for over 50 years. She was a devoted mother to the late Daniel Pitman who passed away earlier this year. Judy will forever be remembered by her devoted sisters Barb Showers and Susan Harper, Brother Rick Meredith, children Jeff Pitman, Robin Vallejo, dear friends Donna Bedell, and Dee Smith, along with countless other friends and family who were blessed to know her. She treasured her grandchildren Zack, Koty, Anthony, and Cooper and loved her role as grandmother – she would do ANYTHING for her grandsons. Judy was a lifelong member of Columbia Road Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and AWANA. Judy was an avid Mason Bulldog fan and attended wrestling, track and football contests religiously. She loved listening to Elvis Presley, reading mysteries, working crosswords, laughing, being with her family, having fun with friends and keeping Harold in line.

Judy touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity, and maintained a great sense of humor all the way to the end. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Columbia Road Baptist Church, 5000 W. Columbia Rd., Mason, MI 48854. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason and Wednesday from 10-11 at the church. The family requests donations be sent to Harold Pitman 713 N. Eifert Rd., Mason, MI 48854
