Kathy graduated from St. Mary’s Cathedral class of 1960 and said that high school was a great experience for her. She then attended Melba Beauty School to become a cosmetologist.
In 1962, she married the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Ghinelli. Together they built a beautiful life filled with many cherished memories while raising four children-Paul, Joe, Gina and nephew, Richard. They lived in Lansing and later moved to Mason.
She enjoyed traveling and touring in their antique cars, and summers up north spent with family. Her favorite summer event was the Italian St. Ippolito picnic “Bunker Hill”. One of her greatest joys in life was her grandchildren: Deanna, Nichole, Megan, Erin, Alex, Robert and Roman; along with seven great-grandchildren. Each one held a special place in her heart. They were her whole life, and she was theirs. Their bond was a very special one; she was their calm and safe space, and they were the same to her. Her best times were spent with them each spring at her happy place, New Smyrna Beach. She also enjoyed making candy in the family candy business. Some of her greatest memories are sitting across from her mother hand-dipping and sharing laughs together.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her brother, James Fabiano; sister-in-law, Marianne Fabiano; sister, Linda Fabiano; brother-in-law, John Blair and nephew, Dan Blair.
Kathleen will be remembered for her warmth; her timeless sense of style and the way she made everybody feel at home. She was the heart of the family. She was strong, steady, and full of love.
We would like to add a very special thanks and appreciation to her wonderful friends Sandy Pier and Kathy Freeman who were there when she needed them most. Also, many thanks to our Aunt Madeline (Fabiano) Blair and Uncle Chuck who have helped with Kathleen until the end and is by our side today. For that we are so grateful.
