Larry graduated from Mason High School with the Class of '63, leaving an indelible mark on his alma mater. Larry dedicated his life to service, proudly serving in the US Army, where he distinguished himself as an expert rifleman and medic, earning an honorable discharge.
Following his military service, Larry embarked on a successful career at Builders RediMix of Lansing, where he devoted his time and skills until his well-earned retirement in 1991. Not one to slow down, Larry then became the proud owner of Vin-Del Motel from 1991 to 1999.
Later in life, Larry found joy and fulfillment working at Cheboygan Cement until his second retirement. Larry was a man of many passions, spending his free time immersed in the great outdoors. An avid hunter, fisherman, and camper, Larry embraced the beauty of nature through hiking and honed his skills in woodworking and carving. His creativity also extended to the winter months, where he indulged in the art of ice and snow sculpting.
Larry's strength, inventiveness, and sense of humor endeared him to all who knew him. His legacy lives on not only in the memories of his friends and colleagues but also in the craftsmanship of his creations and the warmth of the Vin-Del Motel he once owned. However, Larry's greatest joy was his family, and his role as a grandfather brought him immeasurable happiness. His loving and supportive presence enriched the lives of his grandchildren, leaving a lasting impact that transcends generations.
