Larry R. Vinson

Larry graduated from Mason High School and went on to attend Lansing Community College, where he began his path toward a long and successful career as a plumber and pipefitter. He was a proud member of UA Local 333.

On June 20, 1981, Larry married the love of his life, Vickie, in Lansing, Michigan. Together they built a life filled with love and countless adventures. Larry had a deep love for the outdoors—he especially enjoyed fishing, traveling, and camping. After Larry retired, he and Vickie enjoyed spending winter months in Arizona and their summers at the lake where Larry enjoyed long days fishing with friends and family, including brother-in-law Jerry Balzer. Larry was also a talented handyman with a passion for construction projects. His favorite projects were ones completed alongside his brothers, John and Gerry. A member of the NRA and the Moose Lodge, Larry valued tradition and community.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Vickie Vinson; children: Scott (Teresa) Vinson and Kelli (Hugh) Doyle; grandchildren: Jacob (Kayla) Vinson, Jared (Ashley) Vinson, Luke Vinson, Heather (Jacob) Luke, James Doyle and Audrey Doyle; great grandchildren: Sailor, Scarlett, Owen, Banks, Palmer and Holden; sister Anne Murphy; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers: Gerald VanDouser and John VanDouser.

A visitation for Larry will be held Friday, August 15, 2025, from 6-8pm at Gorsline Runciman – Ball Dunn Chapel, 621 S. Jefferson St. Mason, MI 48854. A funeral service will take place Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 12:00pm at Gorsline Runciman – Ball Dunn Chapel. Interment to follow at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Holt, MI. A luncheon will follow the service at Eden United Brethren Church, 1938 Eden Rd., Mason, MI.
