Margarete “Margret” Weyer, age 82, died peacefully in her sleep on October 1, 2021, in Mason, Michigan. Margret is survived by her son, Ingo (Teresa) Weyer, her daughter, Tricia (Jason) Embury, Grandchildren Stephanie, Jo, Alainey & Christion, and Great-Grandchildren Aydin & Brooklynn. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Albert, her parents Josef & Maria, and Brothers Josef, Toni, & Hans.

Margret was born on February 25th, 1939 in Bad Godesberg, Germany. She married Albert in 1960 & they immigrated shortly thereafter to the US settling in Lansing, where she raised her children & was involved at IHM parish & elementary school for many years. After moving to Mason in 1994, Margret became a parishioner at St. James Catholic Church & has been actively involved in the St. James' Women's Club & Rosary Group, her “church family'', whom she loved dearly & was forever grateful for their friendship & companionship. W e have been so blessed to have known Margret (Oma) and share so many family get-together memories over the years. She was a gracious and lovely woman in every way. She always made everyone feel like family, and her family meant the world to her! She will be greatly missed.

Dear Weyer Family,

Please accept my condolences on Margret's passing. It makes me sad to think I will no longer see her in the vestibule of St James Church performing her ushering duties. I met Margret while ushering at St James. What a caring, helpful, and kind usher she was. I will miss joking around with her or sharing thoughts on various subjects. The last time I spoke to Margret was Sunday September 12th when she asked me to substitute usher for her the last two weekends of September. I was happy to do so.

I am sure your pain as a result of Margret's passing is significant. She was a wonderful person who really made a positive difference. I will pray for Margret and will always think of her outgoing personality whenever I am in the vestibule of St James Church.

Sincerely,

John M. Simpson

All of our lives were greatly enriched by knowing the entire Weyer family. Margaret was a good listener, a best friend, and an exceptional human being, but you already knew that. "Well done, good and faithful servant". Rest in peace, my dear friend. Sandy

My heart goes out to Trisha, Ingo, and the entire Weyer family. I knew Margret almost my entire life, and have loved her since I can remember. Margret was a kind, sweet, friend to me and my family. I will always remember how she opened her heart and her home to us. I will miss her gentle voice and gentle ways. It was an honor to call her my friend, and I will dearly miss her.
