Joann was a pleasant lady whose opening statement was always "Hello, Beautiful"! Her glass was always half full, which is how she lived her life by the photos of her many family gatherings. She was a welcome smile at the Sam Corey Senior Center and was a hard working, reliable kitchen helper on Wednesdays. She also enjoyed playing Euchre there as well. She will be missed by her many friends. Our sympathies to her family We were blessed to have known her.

I enjoyed working with JoAnn in the Sam Corey Senior Center kitchen the last year or two. She was always cheerful and easy to work with. We miss her.

It was always difficult to get my dad to leave Detroit and its watering holes. He was willing to visit with mom's brothers.
Uncle Paris always had hard cider, and Uncle Eathen always kept a six pack of beer. The visits would last as long as the drinks did.
The highlight for me was the opportunity to visit Uncle Paris' four children. Joann, being slightly older than my brother Tom and I, was stuck with the task of keeping the Stone boys safe around the equipment and animals.
Joann, even to the last phone conversation we had a few months ago, referred to herself as my older sister.
I loved Joann, and felt proud of the fact that she felt that way.
I know that, at this time, her family has a large empty spot in their hearts. I too have a hole for the same reason as they.
My prayers are with you, her family, and trust the wonderful thoughts you have will give you the strength you need in this time of loss.
I miss you lady.
