Max A. House of Mason, MI died on Thursday February 6, 2014 at the age of 80. Born on November 5, 1933 to Albert and Pearl (Landon) House and they preceded him in death. Also preceded in death are Sisters Bernadine Arnst, Sybil Johnson, and brother Francis House.
Max served his country in Korea and upon his return began a career as an electrician with General Motors and retired after 35 years of loyal service. He enjoyed fishing in the UP with special friends, Jan and Bob French, and loved nature and animals especially his dog buddies DJ, Sasha, Lupe, and Mr. Peabody. He also loved to read and solve crossword puzzles. He enjoyed puttering in the garden and was a quiet and gentle man with a subtle sense of humor. Max was always someone you could count on and was also known to family and friends to be the "repairman extraordinaire". Max enjoyed watching sports especially the MSU Spartans and the Detroit Tigers.
He was a devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather and is survived by his loving wife Janis, and would celebrate 50 years of marriage on May 1, 2014.
Also survived by 8 children: Deborah (Ron) Adani, James (Anna) Taylor, Roberta (Art) Allen, Robert (AnnaBrit) Taylor, Pamela Patterson, Mark (Sandra) House, Andrew House, Matthew House: 11 Grandchildren; Emily (Eric) Chandley, Janet (Aaron) Ziegler, Thorin Taylor, Robert Taylor II, Leanne (Josh) Banister, Lori (Derek) Payne, Stephen Patterson, Kelsey Patterson, Anthony and Dino Adani, and Shaney (Chad) Klein: 6 Great Grandchildren; Caitlyn and Leah Chandley, Kaitlyn and Keira Banister, Elijah Payne, and Emma Klein.
Max will be greatly missed by his family and friends and we look forward to seeing him in our heavenly home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, 12:00 p.m at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, MI. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, between 10:00 a.m. & 12:00 p.m.
