Patricia Ann Benites

Our sister in Christ, Patricia Ann Benites, born July 21, 1929, in Mishawaka, Indiana, was called home by our Lord on June 01, 2021. Pat confessed Jesus Christ as her only Lord and Savior from sin and death. She walked with her Lord during her life and shared the love of Jesus through her life. Because of God's perfect love and grace given to Pat; we know that she is now with Christ in the joys of heaven. With all Christians, we eagerly await the day of resurrection when Jesus will return and call all believers to Himself for eternity.

A week after Pat was born, her mother died. She spent her early years living with grandparents, while her father worked through the depression to help provide for them. In 1939, she moved to Buchanan, Michigan to live with her father and stepmother.

She graduated from Buchanan High School in 1947. In 1955, she married Ben D. Benites. In 1958, they had their first and only child, Patti. They lived in Blissfield, Michigan and Traverse City, Michigan before moving to Mason, Michigan in 1968, where she lived the remainder of her life. While in Mason, she was hired by Mason Public Schools where she served as a playground supervisor. She later became a teacher’s aide until her retirement. She was always there for her friends and others when she was needed, sometimes spending weeks at a time consoling, and caring for them.

Pat was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Reinholt, her stepmother, Alma (Enyeart) Reinholt and her husband, Ben D. Benites. Pat is survived by her sister JoDean (Reinholt) Mann (Richard), her brother Keith Reinholt (Pat), her daughter Patricia (Benites) O'Brien, her son-in-law, Dennis O’Brien, three grandchildren, Ben, (Megan) O'Brien, Sean, (Christen) O'Brien, Olivia Peitsch, (Adam), five great-grandchildren, Mackenzie O'Brien, Parker O'Brien, Nolan O'Brien, Connor Peitsch, and Dylan O'Brien. She loved her family and her family loved her.

The visitation will be Thursday, June 10, 2021, at 10 am, followed by a Memorial service at 11 am, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 2418 North Aurelius Road, Holt, Michigan 48842.
