On July 31, 2026, with the passing of Patricia “Pat” Perreault, a piece of our hearts left this physical world. Our beloved sister, grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt and great aunt was born September 16, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan to Keith and Rita Rich, the third of six girls.
Raised in Lansing, Michigan, she graduated from Lansing Eastern High School in 1961. Pat worked for the State of Michigan in the department of Education and retired at the age of 53. On November 28, 1980, she married the love of her life, Phillippe Perreault. Together, Phil and Pat traveled all over the United States and Canada, making many friends along the way. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving and her favorite color was purple. She was a lifelong advocate for women's and human rights, and was a proud Democratic voter. She loved cooking and always had room at the table for one more. Her generosity was natural and genuine. She loved her pets (her babies) and spent recent years bonding with beloved neighbors who felt like family.
She was predeceased by her husband Philippe Perreault and sisters Rita BeVier and Virginia (Ginger) Rich; and is survived by her sisters Carol Haynie (Lou) and Barbara Depue (Bruce) of Mason MI; Dona Martinson (Edwin) of Ironwood, MI; stepdaughter Alexandria Worth (John) of Arlington, TX; stepsons William Perreault of Sparta, MI; Chris Hayden (Nancy) of Brewer, ME; Tom Hayden (Patti) of DeWitt, MI; John Hayden (Rosy) of Auburn, ME; former son-in-law Charlie Singstad (Karen) of San Antonio,TX; grandchildren Morgen Singstad of Austin, TX; Grace Hamilton (John) of San Antonio, TX; Anna Hayden (Andrew) of Marlboro, MA; Joe Hayden (Lindsay) of Holden, ME with their daughter Marlee; Mike Hayden of Brewer, ME; Chelsea Thelen (Brad) of Portland, MI; Taylor Perkins (Trent) of Grand Rapids, MI; great grandchildren Hutton Hamilton; Addison Bryn and Nora Thelen; and Marlee Hayden.
She passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of July 31. Her final request for those who will miss her was to “speak of love” when we think of her.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 7 at St. James Catholic Church, 1010 South Lansing St., Mason. Visitation is at 9:00 a.m. and the Mass at 10:00 a.m.
