Phoebe "Pat" Bartlett Clark, age 91, passed away peacefully March 4, 2013. Pat was born July 10, 1921 to Lewis and Cora (Whiting) Bartlett on College Road, Mason. She graduated from Mason High School in 1939 and studied at Michigan State University. She worked at the Mason Library for over 15 years where she drove the first Bookmobile, then at Michigan State University in the Controller's Office for 20 years. In June of 1967, she married Dr. William E. Clark.
Pat's interests and affiliations include canoeing and camping, travels with Dr. Clark, playing in the Recorder Club, singing in the Women's Chorale at MSU, membership in the Mason Area Historical Society, Golden K Kiwanis of Mason, the Mason Women's Club, the Lansing Matinee Musicale, the Unitarian Universalist Church of East Lansing, and loyal supporter of the Mason Orchestral Society, Mason United Way, Lansing Food Bank, MSU’s Wharton Center, WKAR, The William and Phoebe Clark MSU Scholarship for Returning Adult Students and many other charities.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William E. Clark, brothers, Russell (and Nietta) Bartlett, Omar (and Mildred) Bartlett, Hollis (and Jean M.) Bartlett, Curtis (and Myrtle) Bartlett, sisters Gladys Bartlett and E. Jean Bartlett.
Pat is survived by her nieces, Nancy (and Lowell) McKenzie, Mary (and Norm) Ostrom, Marilyn (and David) Orrison, her nephews, Robert (and Connie) Bartlett, and Richard (and Delores) Bartlett; also by William Clark’s sons, Thomas Clark, and James (and Janet) Clark, and grandchildren Arthur Clark, Chelsea Clark, Paul (and Michelle) Clark. She is also survived by many close friends, including beloved neighbors Al and Donna Kmiecik, and dear friends Carol Wallace, Marie Lyons, and Laura Lazet.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 12:00 at the Mason First United Methodist Church, 201 East Ash Street, Mason, with the Reverend Timothy Tuthill, of Grand Rapids, officiating.
