

R. Larry Price, age 80, of Mason, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. He was born on February 27, 1944, In Lansing, Michigan to Bob J and Ida A. (Glynn) Price. His early life was spent in Dansville, Michigan. He spent his time hunting, fishing, riding dirt bikes, was active in the Boys Scouts, and built model airplanes with his lifelong friend, Jon; who crashed the first plane and Larry had to put back together. Larry also helped Jon with his paper route. Larry graduated from Dansville High School in 1962, after participating in football, track, and pole vaulting.
Larry had a full career over the years. His first job was a mechanic at an auto dealership. He worked at Launstein Hardwoods, owned and operated Tri County Heating and Cooling, and Retired form GM after 23 years as a Skilled Tradesman. Larry was a proud member of Pipe Fitters Union 388 and the UAW 602. Larry was a Jack of All Trades and Master of Most!! He was able to come up with solutions to almost all problems and family and friends would often call on him for advise on how to fix something or work out a technical problem.
Larry enjoyed being in the outdoors and cherished the trips out West to hunt and fish, and to spend time going to the cabin on Houghton Lake. He held a special place in his heart for the special fishing charter trip he took with his dad, Steve, and his nephew. He loved the family gatherings and always was first in line with his plate. He especially enjoyed Sunday mornings having coffee and doughnuts with Carol, Steve, and Laurie.
Larry is survived by the love of his life for 28 years, Carol Cooper; children, Tammy Gates of Ashburn, Virginia, Melissa “Missy” Miller of Estero, Florida, Steve (Laurie) Cooper of Dimondale, Michigan; grandchildren, Chloe (Kurt) Miller of Fenton, Michigan, MiKayla Agard of Ashburn, Virginia, Kayla (Jason) Hittle of Florida, and Megan (Tristian) Stephens of Dimondale, Michigan; great grandchildren, Julian, Grant, Amelia, Brooklyn all of Florida and Poppy and Violet (soon to be) both of Michigan; sister, Janice Bowerman, and lifelong friend, Jon (Mary) Briggs. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gerald Price.
He was the best Dad and Grandfather.
Visitation for Larry will take place on Sunday, February 16, 2025, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the Gorsline Runciman Mason Chapel, 621 S. Jefferson St. Mason, Michigan. A private graveside service will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Dansville, Michigan.
