

Richard “Dick” J. Henneman lost his battle of 21 years to prostate cancer on 9-1-2017 at his home peacefully in his sleep. Dick was born July 23, 1935 to Kenneth and Hazel (Smith) Henneman, in Niagara Falls, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents and Veronica J. Olney. Dick is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary, sisters Julie (Lance) Pierce of Winchester, VA, Susan (Don) Norton of Bergen, NY; his children Bill (Amy) Henneman of Rincon, Ga, Jodi (Ben) Sweezy of Mason, MI: his grandchildren Crystal (Troy) Thomas, Angela Henneman, Brooke Olney, Allison Sweezy and Alexis Sweezy and several nieces and nephews.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman and woodworker. His early career of construction lead him to MSU where he helped build many buildings on the campus. As he got older and wiser he switched careers to the Ingham County Road Commission. He retired from there with 21 yrs of service to pursue his hobbies and to help with the four girls they cared for. He was a life member of the Masonic Lodge #70 of Mason, Michigan. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Lutheran Church, 720 W. South St., Mason, MI. The family will receive friends on Monday at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson St., Mason from 2-4 p.m and 6-8 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 8:00 p.m.
