Richard H. Marier Sr.

MASON, MI

Richard was born September 11, 1931 to Hugo and Margaret (Ott) Marier, in Pontiac, MI, and went to be with his Lord on November 23, 2015 at the age of 84.

Richard worked Plant Protection at Oldsmobile for 28 years and retired in 1991. He was an active member at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Richard loved his Lord and spending time with his family and friends. He was a giving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved playing golf with his sons, grand sons-in-law, and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Lynwood Marier; and his previous pets. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Barbara (Simpson) Marier, of 63 years; 2 sons, Rich (Betty) Marier and Butch Marier; one daughter, Michele (Rudy) Estrada; grandchildren, Rebecca (Kelly) Skarl; Nicole (Josh) Lillie; Melissa (Todd) Reterstorf; Lisa (Jason) Durfee; and Lin Marier; and 11 great grandchildren; one sister Marlene Barker; and one sister-in-law, Linda Marier; and many nieces and nephews, and Smokey, his precious cat.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4001 S. Pennsylvania Avenue, Lansing, with Pastor Michael Bater officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 27, 2015 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson St., Mason, from 4-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church.
