He was born to Ruth (Van Zandt) Ferguson and Edwin Ferguson on May 13, 1941 in Adrian Michigan.
Bob was predeceased by his father at 20 months old and was subsequently raised by his mother and stepfather, Vincent Mapes, along with his two half-siblings.
Bob graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1959 and attended a trade school before becoming a machinist for American Chain and Cable and then Ford Motor Company until his retirement.
Bob married Audrey Keller in 1966 and they had two sons, Bart and Bret Ferguson. Bob and Audrey later divorced, but remained friends until her death in 2015.
Bob loved fast cars, motorcycles and airplanes. He will be forever remembered for his humor and love of good (and bad) jokes.
He is survived by his long-time partner Virginia Wing, his two sons, their wives and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be at noon on May 7 at St. Joe’s Shrine in Irish Hills, MI. The funeral will follow at 1 PM.
