He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and project manager for several of their undertakings and was also a former president. He was a member of the Ascension Lutheran Church in East Lansing; he served as an usher for several years and planned many of the parish activities. Bob loved to see his family achieve their personal goals and was always a willing participant in making sure they reached and surpassed them. Bob was a supporter of the 4-H club; he was both a member in his youth and later volunteered his time as an adult leader.
