Born February 3, 1930 in Lansing, MI, the son of Ruth and Roray Page, died June 6, 2010 at the age of 80. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and was a life member of the VFW Post 7309 in Mason, holding several offices. He was also involved with the American Legion Post 0238. Robert retired from Oldsmobile in 1985 as a Lieutenant in Plant Security and Fire Protection and participated in the Lansing GM Salaried Retirees Club. He enjoyed racing motorcycles, and stock cars. Hunting, fishing and bowling were some of his favorite activities, but his children and grandchildren gave him the greatest joy. He was former president of the Mason Bowling Association and inducted into the 2002 Mason Bowling Association Hall of Fame. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brother Gene; and sister Joyce Willitt. Surviving is his loving wife and fishing/bowling partner of 48 years, Beverly; son Dana (Andrea) Page; daughter Laurie (Steve) Matthews; grandchildren Lauren, Jordan, and Trent Page; little ones, Zachariah and Benjamin Matthews; and sister Barbara (Jim) Turbok. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Ball Dunn Chapel, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, MI. Pastor Chris Bigg will be officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 8, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Ball Dunn Chapel.
