Ronald E. Kemp Jr.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Melinda Kay Kemp, his two beautiful daughters who were the loves of his life, Kendra Michelle Kemp & Karla Sue Kemp. He also leaves behind his loving mother, Karol Sue Ball to cherish his memory; father, Ronald Edward Kemp, Sr.; brother, Todd William Kemp and a wonderful extended family.

Ron graduated from Haslett High School. He took classes at Lansing Community College and obtained a criminal justice certificate. He worked as a corrections officer for the State of Michigan for 20 years. Ron enjoyed the great outdoors and camping with his family. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, grilling, snowmobiling, gardening, golfing and time spent with family at the cottage on Lake 13. In addition Ron was a huge Spartan fan. He never did find out they lost in the first round.

A memorial service will be held 5pm, Wednesday, April 20th, at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson St., Mason with Rev. A. Trevor Sutton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ron’s daughters’ college education, Kendra is a nursing student at Northern Michigan University and Karla is an engineering student at Kettering University. Checks may be made payable to Karol Ball, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, MI 48854 in memory of Ron.
