Russell Frederick Stevens
May 27, 1936 – February 8, 2021
Russell "Russ" Stevens slept away into Heaven on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, sure in the knowledge, and trusting in the promise that, "... it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast." And those who trust that promise believe that Russ is now singing praises with all the saints who have gone before. Russ worked in Maintenance for Holt Schools for 26 years prior to retirement. But his first love was always farming, which is what he did before, during, and after, employment with the school. He loved his Lord, his wife, Harriette, his family, John Deere tractors, and farming, in that order. And he demonstrated that love always, through faithfulness and hard work. He was a man of his word. Nobody ever had a bad word for him, and he had a smile for everyone. He would help anyone who needed it and would give anything he had to anyone who needed it. He was simply a good man. He has suffered from many illnesses for these past months; today, his troubles are over. It is left to those who remain to grieve his loss, and to cherish his memory. His loss is felt most keenly by his wife,Harriette, and only a little less by his children and grandchildren. Russ is survived by his wife, Harriette (Cross), children: Crystal Bolinger, of Kokomo, Indiana; Nancy (Roger) VanAlstine, of Mason, Michigan; Mary Elizabeth (Bob) Knowles, Indian River, Michigan, Marylouise (Ken) Scott, of Mason, Michigan, step¬children: Bob (Marge) Sergent, of Clarkston, Michigan; Kate (Dave) Cook, of Atlanta, Georgia; Dennis (Joyce) Sergent, of Charlotte, Michigan, special friend and grandson, Michael Stevens, of Williston, North Dakota, as well as grandchildren and great¬grandchildren too numerous to mention. Per his wishes, there will be no services. Russ was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church, Mason, Michigan. Contributions can be made there in his name.

Remember sitting on my front porch having coffee with Russ, Harriet, and Nancy. Russ always seemed to be a very quiet Person. Very polite.
You and your family are in my prayers.
