Russ owned and operated Russ's Repair in Mason, Michigan that he established in 1970. He always stood ready to assist at a moment's notice, both day and night and was a loyal friend, and honest and dependable repairman. He was past president of the County Seat Old Car Club and will be remembered for his love of antique automobiles. He and Betty traveled to many car shows and enjoyed sharing their '69 Chevelle and '72 Impala Convertible. Every Friday he would race at Spartan Speedway and could also be found drag racing at Onondaga Dragway. Russ also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Betty Lou Williams in June of 2017. Also preceding are his father Russell Clifford Omans, mother Irene Omans, brother Ronald Smith, sisters Marita Omans, Ardella McTaggert, adoptive mother Ethel Frane, and nephews Ronald Smith Jr. and Brent Oberdank.
He will be lovingly remembered by children, Howard (Sally) Williams, Rusty Williams, Lorna (Dave) Williams, Richard (Tina) Omans and Susan (Jay) Mathis; grandchildren Joseph, Mike, Cortnie, Jessie, Morgan, Darrin, Mark, Shane, Allan, Casey, Stacy, Little Richard and Madeline; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Aubree, Emma, Ajay, Serenity; and many friends, neighbors and customers.
