Sandra Kay Bolton

August 5, 2026, from pancreatic cancer. Born in Lansing, Michigan, Sandy was a resident of Mason, Michigan, where she lived a full and purposeful life.

Sandy was the kind of person who showed up – not just for the big moments, but for the everyday ones that matter most. She built a meaningful life as a court reporter (certified scopist), a career that reflected her incredible work ethic and attention to detail. Her heart, humor, dedication, positivity, and her unwavering faith was always a beacon of light for those searching for a strong foundation. She was an inspiration to so many.

Sandy found joy in the simple things – Northern Michigan getaways to Glen Lake, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and Mackinac Island, where she built so many memories with the people she loved most. Family get-togethers were a must! Whether it was at someone’s home, a nearby zoo, or a vacation. She had a sweet tooth that catered especially to cheesecake, ice cream, Mackinac Island fudge, bread pudding, and stealing everyone’s black licorice. And she will always be remembered for loving the “crunch” of her raw carrots. Wintergreen Life Savers were her little treat, and she never missed a chance to sing along to Mercy Me, Brandon Lake, and King & Country (bonus points if you knew all the words too!). She collected Precious Moments figurines and purchased a magnet from every trip, each one a tiny reminder of a place, a person, or a memory worth revisiting with every trip to the fridge.

Sandy had a playful spirit and incredibly quick wit. Sandy appreciated pranks and had a genuine sense of humor that brought lightness and laughter to those fortunate enough

to share it with her. She accepted all dares (like beanboozled) and challenges, one challenge being to learn how to “dab” with her grandchildren. She cherished her family above all else. Sandy enjoyed puzzles, losing at Parcheesi, and card games. She made the perfect Euchre partner and was unbeatable at Scrabble. She loved watching her grandchildren’s sporting events, as well as the shows “The Chosen” and “Hudson and Rex”, along with her favorite movies “I Can Only Imagine” and “Miracle”.

Sandy will be remembered for her big heart, her laughter, her love for Jesus, and the way she made the ordinary feel extraordinary. She found joy in serving others, whether through volunteering at church or through her involvement with Celebrate Recovery. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the memories she created, and the love she so effortlessly gave.

Sandy was preceded in death by her sister, Georgia Glick, and her grandson, Ethan Lockwood, and her beloved German Shepherds (Gabe and Gideon).

Sandy is survived by ex-husband Robert Bolton who remained a cherished friend, and their four children (and families): daughter Jennifer Lloyd and children Keira, Teagan, Broden, and Corbin; daughter Cheryl (Jason) Lockwood and children Jackson, McKenzie, and Brooklyn; daughter Laurie (Mitchell) Raupp and children Dakota, Harper, Tanner, and Parker; daughter Michelle (Robert) McNeely and child Jasmine. She is also survived by her brother, Lawrence (Sylvia) George, as well as many other friends and family.

Visitation will be held at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 South Jefferson, Mason, MI 48854, on August 15, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A funeral service will be held on September 3rd at 11 am, at New Hope Church in Haslett, located at 1340 Haslett Rd, Haslett, MI 49940. Burial will take place immediately following the funeral service at Summit Cemetery on Beeman Rd. in Williamston, MI.
