Shirley Elizebeth Abel

On Friday, July 7, 2023, in Mason, Shirley Elizabeth Abel, passed away peacefully at home to the arms of Jesus, at the age of 92. A beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and aunt. She was a woman of grace and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.

Throughout her life, she blessed the lives of many with her talents and gifts. She was skilled at alterations and tailoring, which she learned from her mother. She used her love of cooking at Mason General Hospital in the Food Service Department, where she cooked delicious meals for the staff and patients. She delighted in family holiday parties, cherished family reunions, enjoyed simple get-togethers and the precious moments spent with her loved ones.

In addition to her talents, she had a love and passion for her hobbies: collecting strawberry items, dolls, and Victorian knick-knacks. She also found joy in the art of baking, quilting, sewing and going to estate sales.

Surviving are sons Thomas Abel, Terry Abel (Alice Kidder), and Tim Abel (Aimee), alongside her three loving daughters, Judy Haynes- Vasko (John), Laura Hammes, Janice Scott (Gary Ronchetti) and daughter-in-law Debbie Abel. She leaves behind a legacy in her eight grandchildren and their spouses, Melissa Aiken (Tommy), Amy Jo Pline (Marvin), Wendy Brown (Mike), Leslie Baldwin (Ed), April Abel, Brenda Schaberg (Scott), Casey Abel (Jenny) and Steve Hammes (Katie. Furthermore, she bestowed her love upon her 19 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren as well as countless nieces and nephews. She joins her longtime love and husband, Ralph Abel, along with her parents, Oris and Greeta Pardee, sister and five brothers, who all preceded her in death.

She will be greatly missed by family and friends, a testament to the love and unity she instilled within our hearts.
