Shirley Mabel (Fletcher) Rowe, age 85 of Mason, MI, peacefully went into the arms of Jesus on March 10, 2020 surrounded by her family. Born November 4, 1934 to Chester and Madeline (Hall) Fletcher of Mason, MI. She is survived by her children: Ronald (Joyce) Rowe of Mason, Gary (Terri) Rowe of Holt, and Linda (Randy) Cobb of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren: Jason (Sarah) Rowe, Alesha (Wesley) Cavanaugh, Nathan (Kimberly) Lott, Krista Lott, Ryan (Betsy) Rowe, Tiffany (Bradley) Stutzman, Paige (Chris) Innis, and Kirk Marble; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Marjorie (Theodore) Welch of Mason; and sisters-in-law, Alice (Albert) Cook of Okemos, MI, and Agnes (John) Clark of Ithaca, MI; as well as several nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Russell Paul Rowe.

Shirley was an avid cook who enjoyed making meals for her family. She was well known for her “famous” Macaroni and Cheese that she brought to each gathering. She was a lifelong member of Pennway Church of God in Lansing, MI and helped with many Mission trips abroad. She enjoyed teaching 4-H, was a cake decorating instructor, was very artistic, and had a great love for crafting.

Shirley enjoyed traveling to many places in the world with her late husband Russell, to whom she was married for 64 years. She had a smile that would brighten up the room. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandma, great-grandma and aunt. She loved spending time on the farm and at Lake Shirley (yes, it was named after her).

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at Pennway Church of God, Lansing, MI (an announcement will follow).

A special thanks for the wonderful care that Shirley received in the last few years of her life at Prestige Way, Holt, MI, and later from Heart to Heart Hospice.

  • Memorial Service to be held at a later date.

I have so many memories, but they all involve her laugh. She was a great lady. It was a privilege to know her. One of my favorites is when she hosted, along with Alice and Elaine, a bridal shower for me....more years ago than I care to remember. It was a very special day, and she made me feel special.
