Spencer Steven Sowles

On March 18, 2013 Spencer went to chill with Jesus. Spencer was born November 27, 1994 to Steven and Tammy (Everdeen) Sowles. He fought a valiant fight against cancer for over 3½ years. He attended the First Presbyterian Church of Mason. He was a senior at Mason High School and on March 15th received his certificate of completion. He played football up until 8th grade, but was always a part of the high school teams, even though he couldn’t play. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop #763 of Mason and was an avid U of M fan. Spencer is survived by his parents, Steven and Tammy; sister, Shaina (Collin); grandparents, Dianne Sowles, Rodger (Pamelia) Everdeen; great-grandparents, Elizabeth (Karl) Sowles-Ralph, Priscilla Khabir; five uncles, Dan (Bonnie) Everdeen, Bob (Gi) Everdeen, Mike Sowles, Kevin Sowles, Brent Grover; and several great aunts, uncles and cousins. A special grandpa, Glen Sowles, preceded him in death. A special thanks to the nurses and doctors with the Sparrow Pediatric Oncology Unit. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 4:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church of Mason, 131 E. Maple, Mason, MI with the Rev. Bill Pinches officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:30 and 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, MI. Contribution in Spencer’s memory may be made to Sparrow Foundation, P.O. Box 30480, Lansing, MI 48909-7980 or to the First Presbyterian Church of Mason to complete his Eagle Scout project.
